7 tips to make your eyes look bigger and brighter

Who doesn’t want sparkling youthful eyes that make us appear youthful and awake? Age, stress, long hours in front of the computer, poor diet, pollution, lack of sleep—all amount to poor eyesight and make your eyes look duller. But you can bring them back to life with a mix of simple natural remedies and makeup hacks.

Berry beautiful

Start your day with a bowl of fresh berries such as blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, mulberries. Berries are loaded with antioxidants and vitamins that give a healthy boost to the eyes and skin, making it bright and healthy.

Apple eye pad

Cut a slice of apple and place it in the fridge, remove after 20 minutes and place it over your eyes. The tannic acid in apples reduces the appearance of dark circles and nourishes the delicate skin around eyes. Natural ingredients such as potatoes and cucumber also work as great eye pads as they are high in water content and reduce puffiness.

Reduce screen time

Spending too much time on the computer and phone (yes, we’re addicted too) can seriously strain your eyes. Sigh! Taking a break from the screen every 30-40 minutes is a good idea! Also, make sure you keep them hydrated by blinking often.

Correct, conceal, cheer!

When it comes to big, bright eyes, any dark shades around the eyes is an enemy! Dark circles can make eyes appear smaller. Correct with orange-tone corrector to cancel out purple undertones. Layer with concealer on top to make eyes look awake and fake eight hours of sleep.

Make it large

To make your eyes appear large and pretty, line the waterline with white or nude eye pencil. This a quick and easy way to instantly open up your eyes. Lining the waterline with white/nude extends the whites of your eyes, making them appear awake and bigger.

Highlight strategically

Highlighter can instantly give life to your look and is one the best tricks for opening up your eyes. Dab some on the brow bone, tail of your eyebrow, very centre of the lid and inner corner of your eyes. A concealer that is slightly lighter than your natural skin tone will give great results too.

Lash out!

Falsies can instantly add glamour to your eyes and give you Disney-princess eyes. Pick one that offers length and thickness for pretty doe-eyed look.
